Photos for Yolande…including a forest fire.

Monday, May 15th, 2006

Everyone loves great west-coast photos, especially Yolande when she’s on a coffee break. True, she could be discussing the latest useless golf trinket, baseball, or ‘how great I am’ discussion going on with the other corporate crew…but that’s just not Yolande. It doesn’t help that she’s in the office so early that her coffee break is about 8:30am, before half the people have even thought about whether they’re going to head to work that day or hit the links…but I digress.

Coming back from Kamloops, er racing back since we were late for Mother’s Day Dinner, I snapped the following ’snap-shots’ out the car window. Literally out the car window, usually at a speed slightly above the speed limit (though I’m joking if any law enforcement agencies happen to read tis). Trying to drive the Duffy one-handed, ever-so-slightly (allegedly) over the speed limit while taking a photo that is straight and well-exposed isn’t exactly easy…so these are what they are.

Kamloops!

Sunday, May 14th, 2006

Warwick and I were silly enough to get up at 4am this morning. We’re hauling out to Kamloops to video and photograph the off-road truck series that Shaums is competeing in.

In a rare change of position, Warwick is doinf video and I’ll be taking photos.

The sun is coming up over the mountains, we’ve been dodging young deer on the highway for the lasst hour and we’re almost ready to start the Duffly Lake Road…one of the great mountain passes/ribbons of pavement on the west coast.

The only missing is Alex and Aaron…both of whom were with me for my last trip to kamloops…
